Christmas Tree Pictures

I got McKade dressed up in his Christmas outfit and wanted to get some pics of him sitting up in front of the tree. He is still learning to balance himself while sitting up so I had to catch him several times when he would tip over, I only missed once and he konked his head but just smiled and didn't cry. Anyways this one Paul had just walked in the room and he got this huge smile. Nothing can compare to these huge smiles we get from him when he is excited to see us. Here are a few pictures that I got of him. So funny. We are having dinner with Paul's family tonight and we can't wait to see what McKade thinks of opening presents tomorrow. I'm sure all he will be interested in will be the paper. Hope everyone has a great Christmas and gets to enjoy family and good times. Merry Christmas.

Little cheeser grin!!!!

So big sitting up all by himself.

This pic is hysterical, he knows that when I get the camera out and the red eye indicator starts to flash he has learned that he will soon be blinded by the flash so almost every time he will squint preparing for flash, so funny that I caught this right at this time. More pictures to come after all the fuss of Christmas is over.

Where did the last 6 months go??????

Six months used to seem like a long time, that is until I had a baby. I can't believe that it has been six months since we had this sweet little boy. I know six months of pregnancy didn't go this fast (even if I felt great). Our lives have changed so much but I don 't really remember how it was to not have McKade around. He has been such a blessing and so fun to have around and I can't wait to see what the next six months bring.
We finally got a high chair and he seems to really like it. It's a great place to put him when I cook.
Because if I don't have a place to put him he tries to help me out a little too much. I was trying to put the noodles away the other night and he had a death grip on the bag. (He's only in a diaper because he had pooped through this clothes and was going to have a bath anyways, we're not white trash.)
We started rice cereal this week and he really likes it, problem is that his poor little belly hasn't really liked it too much. Tuesday night the poor little boy didn't sleep very well and kept waking up crying and was so gassy. Finally after some mylicon drops and some rocking/cuddling he went back to sleep, only for me to have to get up 2 hours later to go to work. We held off giving him any more cereal until he has his 6 month physical this coming week so I can talk to his pediatrician. We weren't over feeding him the cereal I don't think but I just think his belly was just having a hard time adjusting to digesting this new food.

Usually McKade really likes his swing which has been great for when we are getting ready. This day he had enough of it and was determined to try to turn over/contort his little body in the swing. Funny thing was that after he did this he started to cry because he had himself stuck and couldn't get back. He really is a stubborn boy and determined to do just what he has set his mind out to do. If he sees something he wants he will work so hard to reach it, it's really funny to watch. Just a glimpse of what his personality will be like when he is grown. Oh no, another stubborn person just like his daddy :). I'm in for it.

The other day when I was shopping I found this cute Christmas globe that sings Christmas songs, McKade loved it. He will watch it for about 10 seconds than tries to eat it. On another note he is finally strong enough to push himself up on his arms. I have really tried not to compare him to my friend's babies close in age to him but it is really hard not to. Anyways he is making progress and getting stronger everyday and I'm sure before I know it he will be walking all over. I'll keep my little immobile baby for now thank you.

Oh Christmas Tree......

Paul is so set on us keeping up the tradition of going out and cutting down our own Christmas tree, it really is fun but sometimes it would be easy to have a fake one with the lights all ready on. Anyways we took McKade on his first Christmas tree hunting trip, it was so cold but that's ok, he ended up being "Ralphy" on The Christmas Story. We found a tree (which is yet to be put up in our house, it's still sitting outside because we have been too busy to get it inside, I know we are lame huh.) Anyways here are a few pics from our outing.

Can you say hat hair??????
Mommy and her little man.

And here is the little man in his snow suit. It's still a little big but it kept him so warm. Funny huh. I thought he would protest all the bundling with the hat and stuff but he humored me and was so good through it all. Thank you Uncle Rudy and Aunt Misty for the gift, will be perfect for this spring up at Scofield when Paul introduces McKade to snowmobiling. Oh dear!!!!!!
Can't wait to get the tree up and decorated to see what McKade thinks of all of it. Should be a fun Christmas. Hope everyone is well and keeping warm, nothing like an abrupt change from the nice long fall to the subartic winter huh.

Determined

I think we have a very stubborn and determined boy on our hands. The other day I had him on his play mat and he could see a toy that he wanted. He kept arching his back and scooted himself across the floor until he could reach his toy. It was too funny so see him work so hard to get to this. We're in for it when he is able to crawl I think.

First Thanksgiving

Well our first Thanksgiving with McKade has come and gone and it was a great one, busy but really fun. We went to my grandparents in Idaho where we had dinner at the highschool. My grandmother has helped with the groundskeeping and other things at the highschool in their little town for as long as I can remember and so we were able to use the highschool's cafeteria which worked perfect for our large family. Somehow Paul got stuck cleaning up the kitchen.

Not all of the family were there this year but several of my mother's siblings were able to make it. My aunt Jenny and her family were able to come back for the holidays from Saudi Arabia so it was great to be able to see them.

The little boy was so tired from all the driving and fell asleep during dinner. Such a sweet little boy he is.

McKade did really good with all the driving until on our way home. He made it ok until about Salt Lake and he had a meltdown. I was pumping in the truck while we drove but he had enough of being in his car seat and screamed. We have never heard him scream like that ever. We stopped at my parents house so I could nurse him and get him calmed down and he slept for a bit then had another breakdown in the canyon. Needless to say it was a long trip home. Even today when I put him in his carseat to go to a wedding he screamed the entire time. I think he is worried that he will be strapped in for another 4 hours. Hope he gets over this because usually he is great traveling but this was the longest trip we have taken. HIs schedule has been so messed up so maybe that is a lot of the problem also.
Well I hope everyone had a safe and fun Thanksgiving. I know we did. I am truly grateful for everything we have and all our family and friends. We are truly blessed is all I can say. Life couldn't be better.

Baby Blessing

Well McKade is 5 months old and we finally got him blessed, better late than never right. He looked so cute in his little outfit and I was suprised that it still fit him but we were good.
My dad gave him his blessing and did a great job. I made Ashley take notes so I can write it down in his baby book later and not forget it. My dad is such a sucker for his grandkids, it's so fun to see him with them, especially the babies. He is a little softie under it all. Thank you dad, we love you.

Isn't my mom so cute, she is such a fun grandmother.

He looks like he just deep in though huh. Wonder what he was dreaming about. Poor kid had a long day. We had gotten up at 5:30 and were running all morning to get ready for the blessing at noon. I was worried that he would be a mess during the blessing and scream through it all but he was so good and calm. When it was done and we were finally getting ready to eat he finally gave in and fell asleep.

Here is some family and friends that were there for the blessing. We missed Janice, Mike and the kids but we just weren't able to plan a time that worked for everyone. Plus Janice is pregnant and the drive from St. George is just too much for her. We were going to do the blessing about a month ago but would have missed Rudy and Misty because they would have been on their honeymoon. Oh well it turned out great and were glad to have those people come who were able to come. Thanks for all the support from everyone, we love you guys.

New Toy

I bought McKade a bouncer chair and finally got it put together, like our house has room for this contraption but it works great to keep him entertained. He is so funny because he can barely reach the ground if he leans to one side and will bounce up and down and just grin like he is the coolest thing ever. Give him a minute and he is trying to get all the toys in his mouth to chew on. Too fun to see him playing in this.

5 months old already!!

McKade turned 5 months old on the 19th and that night he rolled over for the first time. It was funny because it happened so fast. I was sitting on the ground by him and I looked away and next thing I knew he was on his stomach and had his arm stuck under him for a bit. I think he wasn't quite sure what to think. It's funny because I I had just been talking about him at work to some friends and was telling them that he was doing this new thing of tipping his head back as far as he could and would arch his back and we they were just telling me that it would be any day now. Now we are going to have to keep an eye on him.

He was stuck on his arm here and didn't know what to do for a bit. Our little baby is getting too big.

I spent the last weekend up at my parents, it was a fun and relaxing weekend and it was good to spend time with my family. This picture was funny because when I got out my camera to take this picture of Kiya holding McKade Holden said "I'll take a picture" and he whipped out his cell phone (an old one of his moms) and was taking pictures. He is such a funny child.
McKade just hanging out with daddy today. He loves his daddy (but he is still a mommy's boy).
This was so funny, he has this play gym that has toys hanging over him and I walked into the living room and found him holding this mirror and he had pulled it down and was trying to chew on it. Teething???? I think we are heading this direction soon. He wants to chew on anything he gets his hands on but I have never seen him work so hard to get something into his mouth. Isn't life so fun with little ones around, definately not boring.

The other night I had McKade in his chair and was reading his books to him and he started to hold onto the book like he was reading it himself. I was able to get the funniest pictures because it really looks like he is just chilling out reading to himself. How funny.

McKades first Halloween

McKade's first Halloween has come a went and we had fun. He wasn't too impressed when I was drawing his nose and whiskers on his face but the end result was pretty cute I think. We went and visited some friends but Paul's parents weren't around this year so they missed him, they will just get to see pictures.
One of very few pictures of me and my sweet baby. I need to try to get more of us together because I'm always the one taking the pics.

We visited the coffee shop that Paul always go to and they had this huge candy bowl that we put McKade in to take some pictures, it was pretty funny. The kid is only 4 months old and is going to coffee with dad, what will we ever do????

Here is McKade and his "Aunt Nette" (a.k.a. surrogate grandmother, godmother or whatever she decides she is that day :).) I had to post a pic of them for her benefit and made sure to print pictures for her because she is always giving me a hard time that I don't give her copies of the pictures. He was so funny with her.

I love how blue his eyes are against the orange outfit. Too sweet. We went to dinner after which didn't go great, I spent dinner holding him while Paul ate than we switched while I tried to eat but he wasn't having it so I packed up my dinner and we went home where I finished dinner, how romantic huh. Usually he isn't bad when we go to dinner but it was late and time for bed so he was way too tired. Oh well it was a nice night with my to boys. On to his first Christmas which is just around the corner, time to start shopping.

4 months old????

My baby turned 4 months old yesterday, where did the last 4 months go???? We took him to the doctor today for his immunizations and he weighs 13 pounds 6 ounces now, we didn't measure his length. I can't believe how fast time has gone and how much our lives have changed (for the better of course). McKade is growing and learning everyday. It seems like he is learning/discovering something new each day and we are having a blast being along for the ride. Life is great and we feel so blessed to have this little boy in our lives.

Here are a couple pictures that my sister in law did last week, I just love the expressions on his face. He has the funniest smirk in the first one and I think he looks so much like Paul in the second one, maybe it's just the ears I don't know :). What a little man huh.

What we've been up to

We have been so busy the last little while. I'm back to work so our days don't have enough hours in them. Paul's brother got married this last weekend and Paul's sister was up so she did family pictures for us. Here is the handsome little devil in his picture duds. He was so good during the pictures and I am so excited to see them when Jan finishes.

McKade has turned into quite the thumb sucker lately. I will wake up at night and hear him going to town on his thumb. It's great because he is learning to soothe himself which makes nights great. He is also sleeping through the nights which is wonderful, good timing with me being back to work.

He is grabbing at his toys now and here he is totally enthralled with this one. It's so fun watching him learn and change.

We got the cutest camo outfit for one of our baby showers and it was so dang cute on him. Daisy isn't quite sure about the baby sitting on her. So fun. Mckade will be 4 months on the 19th which I can't even believe, it's going way too fast. I'm trying to take every chance I can to cuddle with him before he doesn't want to. Our life is crazy right now but I wouldn't even change any second of it. More pictures to come when I get them from Janice.

Back to work

I went back to work on the 14th and things have been so busy. I'm working 6-2 and Paul watches McKade while I'm at work so it's much better than having to put him in day care, plus it's so good for Paul and McKade to get to spend this time together. Paul has done great and he hasn't even brought McKade to the hospital when he has a poopy diaper for me to change him :). I keep saying that money and insurance are over-rated right???? Anyways we have been so busy so I haven't had much time to post anything. McKade is getting so big and so much fun we love him so much. He seems to be learning and changing so much everyday. I need to upload new pictures but don't have time to right now so I will post new pictures as soon as I can.

Trying out the Bumbo chair

I thought McKade would be too small for a Bumbo chair but a friend of mine said that he would be able to sit in it so I got one for him today and tried it out. He thought it was pretty cool for a bit but got tired and started to tip over and wasn't that impressed anymore. He was about at that point in this picture.

Here was at first and he thought it was pretty cool sitting up. This will be great to have for him because I feel bad having him lay down all the time when I'm doing things around the house.

Visit to Orem

We had to take McKade to a doctors appointment Tuesday with a cardiologist to follow up on some tests he had done. There had been a question that he may possibly have an enlarged heart but they did an ultrasound another EKG and everything was just perfect, no problems at all. I'm glad Dr. Madsen is cautious and wanted us to have this follow up just to be sure because it's good to know everything is perfect. Anyways since I go back to work on Monday (sigh.....) I decided to stay at my parent's for a couple days for a visit.

It was great because me and a couple of my very long time best friends were finally able to coordinate schedules and get together for lunch. Melissa had a little girl at the first of August so it was so great to finally get to meet the sweet little thing. Unfortunately I didn't have a camera with me so didn't get any pictures, so sad.

Here are some pictures from our trip

My dad is such a great grandpa and loves his grandkids so much and is so cute with them.

Chilling with Uncle Jamie. I'm so glad James is doing better and was glad we got to spend some fun times with him. McKade had fun with him and was a ham just smiling and talking when James woudl talk with him.

Here is my super cute sister, she is so much fun. Glad she was able to hang out with us since she is so busy with full time school and work. She's single.......... :).

McKade and grandma just having fun. Loved the little minature cord pants he has on, they were so cute on him.

Random pictures

Our little man has had a mullet since he was born. I can't bring myself to cut his hair because I keep waiting for him to rub it off in the back. It's kind of hard to see here but it's funny because his hair totally falls over his collar.

What a grown up boy huh. We had a dinner to go to so I dressed him in his jeans (before he grows out of them) and this shirt and he looked so grown up.

He all ready likes the T.V. !?!?!? A little hard to tell but he is completely fixated on the tv and always does this when I'm changing his diaper in the living room. I'm sure it's the flashing lights and colors that draws him in but pretty sad he all ready likes it and isn't even 3 months old. Good short-term babysitter........

Paul has been working so much this last month that he hardly has been able to spend time with us because we are usually in bed by the time he is able to get home. This day he came home and fell asleep in minutes while laying by the baby, McKades face is funny looking at him. It's almost over and they will get to spend more time together when I go back to work and Paul will be watching him until I get back home.

Tummy time..... McKade hates tummy time when I put him flat on the floor and just gets pissed and drools on the floor. I find that he does better with the boppy and will try to push his upper body up off the pillow. He is so much fun and such a happy baby just smiling all the time.
