Determined

I think we have a very stubborn and determined boy on our hands. The other day I had him on his play mat and he could see a toy that he wanted. He kept arching his back and scooted himself across the floor until he could reach his toy. It was too funny so see him work so hard to get to this. We're in for it when he is able to crawl I think.

First Thanksgiving

Well our first Thanksgiving with McKade has come and gone and it was a great one, busy but really fun. We went to my grandparents in Idaho where we had dinner at the highschool. My grandmother has helped with the groundskeeping and other things at the highschool in their little town for as long as I can remember and so we were able to use the highschool's cafeteria which worked perfect for our large family. Somehow Paul got stuck cleaning up the kitchen.

Not all of the family were there this year but several of my mother's siblings were able to make it. My aunt Jenny and her family were able to come back for the holidays from Saudi Arabia so it was great to be able to see them.

The little boy was so tired from all the driving and fell asleep during dinner. Such a sweet little boy he is.

McKade did really good with all the driving until on our way home. He made it ok until about Salt Lake and he had a meltdown. I was pumping in the truck while we drove but he had enough of being in his car seat and screamed. We have never heard him scream like that ever. We stopped at my parents house so I could nurse him and get him calmed down and he slept for a bit then had another breakdown in the canyon. Needless to say it was a long trip home. Even today when I put him in his carseat to go to a wedding he screamed the entire time. I think he is worried that he will be strapped in for another 4 hours. Hope he gets over this because usually he is great traveling but this was the longest trip we have taken. HIs schedule has been so messed up so maybe that is a lot of the problem also.
Well I hope everyone had a safe and fun Thanksgiving. I know we did. I am truly grateful for everything we have and all our family and friends. We are truly blessed is all I can say. Life couldn't be better.

Baby Blessing

Well McKade is 5 months old and we finally got him blessed, better late than never right. He looked so cute in his little outfit and I was suprised that it still fit him but we were good.
My dad gave him his blessing and did a great job. I made Ashley take notes so I can write it down in his baby book later and not forget it. My dad is such a sucker for his grandkids, it's so fun to see him with them, especially the babies. He is a little softie under it all. Thank you dad, we love you.

Isn't my mom so cute, she is such a fun grandmother.

He looks like he just deep in though huh. Wonder what he was dreaming about. Poor kid had a long day. We had gotten up at 5:30 and were running all morning to get ready for the blessing at noon. I was worried that he would be a mess during the blessing and scream through it all but he was so good and calm. When it was done and we were finally getting ready to eat he finally gave in and fell asleep.

Here is some family and friends that were there for the blessing. We missed Janice, Mike and the kids but we just weren't able to plan a time that worked for everyone. Plus Janice is pregnant and the drive from St. George is just too much for her. We were going to do the blessing about a month ago but would have missed Rudy and Misty because they would have been on their honeymoon. Oh well it turned out great and were glad to have those people come who were able to come. Thanks for all the support from everyone, we love you guys.

New Toy

I bought McKade a bouncer chair and finally got it put together, like our house has room for this contraption but it works great to keep him entertained. He is so funny because he can barely reach the ground if he leans to one side and will bounce up and down and just grin like he is the coolest thing ever. Give him a minute and he is trying to get all the toys in his mouth to chew on. Too fun to see him playing in this.

5 months old already!!

McKade turned 5 months old on the 19th and that night he rolled over for the first time. It was funny because it happened so fast. I was sitting on the ground by him and I looked away and next thing I knew he was on his stomach and had his arm stuck under him for a bit. I think he wasn't quite sure what to think. It's funny because I I had just been talking about him at work to some friends and was telling them that he was doing this new thing of tipping his head back as far as he could and would arch his back and we they were just telling me that it would be any day now. Now we are going to have to keep an eye on him.

He was stuck on his arm here and didn't know what to do for a bit. Our little baby is getting too big.

I spent the last weekend up at my parents, it was a fun and relaxing weekend and it was good to spend time with my family. This picture was funny because when I got out my camera to take this picture of Kiya holding McKade Holden said "I'll take a picture" and he whipped out his cell phone (an old one of his moms) and was taking pictures. He is such a funny child.
McKade just hanging out with daddy today. He loves his daddy (but he is still a mommy's boy).
This was so funny, he has this play gym that has toys hanging over him and I walked into the living room and found him holding this mirror and he had pulled it down and was trying to chew on it. Teething???? I think we are heading this direction soon. He wants to chew on anything he gets his hands on but I have never seen him work so hard to get something into his mouth. Isn't life so fun with little ones around, definately not boring.

The other night I had McKade in his chair and was reading his books to him and he started to hold onto the book like he was reading it himself. I was able to get the funniest pictures because it really looks like he is just chilling out reading to himself. How funny.

McKades first Halloween

McKade's first Halloween has come a went and we had fun. He wasn't too impressed when I was drawing his nose and whiskers on his face but the end result was pretty cute I think. We went and visited some friends but Paul's parents weren't around this year so they missed him, they will just get to see pictures.
One of very few pictures of me and my sweet baby. I need to try to get more of us together because I'm always the one taking the pics.

We visited the coffee shop that Paul always go to and they had this huge candy bowl that we put McKade in to take some pictures, it was pretty funny. The kid is only 4 months old and is going to coffee with dad, what will we ever do????

Here is McKade and his "Aunt Nette" (a.k.a. surrogate grandmother, godmother or whatever she decides she is that day :).) I had to post a pic of them for her benefit and made sure to print pictures for her because she is always giving me a hard time that I don't give her copies of the pictures. He was so funny with her.

I love how blue his eyes are against the orange outfit. Too sweet. We went to dinner after which didn't go great, I spent dinner holding him while Paul ate than we switched while I tried to eat but he wasn't having it so I packed up my dinner and we went home where I finished dinner, how romantic huh. Usually he isn't bad when we go to dinner but it was late and time for bed so he was way too tired. Oh well it was a nice night with my to boys. On to his first Christmas which is just around the corner, time to start shopping.
